Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Always one of my go-to wines. I'm never disappointed. Classic California cab. Dark ruby red. Full bodied black fruit. Bakers chocolate, oak and herbal. Smooth going down with a little heat. Great with grilled steak but this one can stand on it's own anytime!
Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I love this California Cabernet Sauvignon. Full bodied blackberry flavors with spice and chocolate and a beautiful smooth oak finish. Loved it with beef done in the slow cooker.
Our “shining star,” the Sterling Vintner's Collection Cabernet Sauvignon combines ripe, rich character with elegance and poise. Black berry fruit and ripe cherries leap from the glass, supported by toasty vanilla and cocoa. Full and fleshy across the midpalate, dark fruit reigns, balanced by good acidity and bright cherry notes. Smooth, fruit-driven tannins cradle the finish, integrating subtle elements of oak and spice. A real crowd pleaser, this is a wine for all occasions, pairing equally well with herb-encrusted rack of lamb and pizza alike.

The grapes for this wine come predominately from our Paris Valley Ranch Vineyard in Monterey County, Red Hills Vineyard in Paso Robles and Sage and South Hart Vineyards in San Benito. In these vineyards, scattered along the Central Coast, climate and soil converge to produce grapes with ripe tannins and rich fruit character. During the day, temperatures reach 85° F. In the afternoon, cool maritime breezes funnel down the valleys, bringing nighttime temperatures down to around 60° F and allowing the development of rich fruit flavors balanced with good acidity.
