Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Entering an advanced stage of evolution with grace. Acidity is still fresh and clean. Tannins are resolving but maintain a firm yet gentle grip. Body is in balance, pleasantly medium and in tune with what the wine needs to show its best. 2009 in Niagara was not kind to reds, but some of the finest examples of Pinot Noir came from the vintage, mostly unrivalled until 2014. The red fruit notes are very much dried fruit now, reminiscent of fruit leather. A touch of mushroom, bit mostly fruity. This delight will flatter grilled salmon and Portobello burgers.
Travis Oke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is the 2nd Cattail Creek wine that I've tried - this Pinot Noir was tasted at the Pinot for the People event in Guelph. Fantastic Ontario Pinot - light in colour, almost pale at the edges, very balanced and smooth - reminiscent of a French burgundy.
From the heartbreak grape, a heartthrob wine – you’ll fall in love with this. It’s highly perfumed with red cherry, Asian spice, toast and beetroot aromas, perfectly balanced and simply delicious. Lively spice-infused flavours bathe the palate with Montmorency cherry, ripe succulent black plum and racy red currant to the fore. It’s mid weight with good mouth feel and a generous aftertaste that’s lip-smacking good. Lovely sipped on its own. Score: 4 (out of 5) Source: Vic Harradine, winecurrent.com
