Full-bodied and tannic with a good tarry, black fruit grip on the palate. Savoury and meaty. Give it some cellar time then decant 2 hours with a hearty meat dish. Good value.

Chianti Classico food pairings: medallions of veal, grilled sausage, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Lesley Quinn - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Fizzano estate is not just an ideal terroir for grape vines, it is also home to many olive trees, of which the olive oil has received DO Organic certification. The wine is rich and full of dark fruits with a hint of game, but on the palate the freshness of tart cherries comes alive, while the velvet tannins hug your mouth. A great showing of Chianti Classico, ideal with pasta tossed in pesto and some of that delicious Rocca Delle Macie olive oil.
Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Intense deep ruby red with garnet reflections. Hints of wild berries and well-balanced spicyness. Red ripe fruit aromas and a long finish.

Traditional Chianti Classico with an elegant style and grace. This Sangiovese wine, with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot delivers sour cherry and berry notes.
