From Luis Segundo Correas, Valle Las Acequias 2016 is a fragrant 70% Malbec and 30% Syrah red wine blend from the Mendoza wine region. Lovely on the nose with ripe blueberry, mulberry, violets, mocha and soft vanilla flavours with a lingering, silky mineral finish. Drinking beautifully now.

Bonarda food pairings: grilled game sausage, roast duck, roast leg of lamb, pork roast, veal chops, tourtiere, lamburgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This 100% Bonarda opens with a pronounced smoky, nose. The fruit on the palate was lighter and brighter than the nose suggested. Smooth with fine tannins and a respectable finish. Pour with pizza or burgers. Tasted August 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

While Bonarda may not be as popular as Malbec from Argentina is, it is often crafted with similar quality and value. A little earthy and smoky on the nose with raspberry, strawberry, and violet notes. Bright acidity and good tannic structure complement the full body. Just a touch short on the finish, otherwise a very good wine. Enjoy with venison, beef, and lamb dishes.
Produced by Luis Segundo Correas, Valle Las Acequias 2016 is produced from 100% Malbec from 70-year-old vines with ripe blueberry, crushed raspberry, orange citrus flavours on the palate. Great acidity for food. Enjoy now with grilled meats. The Correas family have been growing grapes and making wine since the 1860. The family owns 400 hectares in Medrano, Maipu and Lujan de Cuyo over 9 estates planted in Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese red wine grapes; Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Tocai Friulano and Torrontes, for whites. - Community Wine Reviews
