Herbal and very grassy with big mouth-watering acidity for a variety of dishes. Medium-bodied and food-friendly. Lime zested on crushed stones on the finish. Try it with vegetarian pizza or seafood. With every purchase of Spinyback Sauvignon Blanc (Waimea Estates' second label), you will be assisting in the conservation efforts to protect the Tuatara ("Spinyback" in Mäori protected by law in 1895), New Zealand's largest reptile -- a half-metre in length and so named for its distinct crest of spines along its neck and back is now only found on the outer islands. The 2017 vintage was awarded Gold at the 2017 New Zealand International Wine Show.

With every purchase of Spinyback Sauvignon Blanc (Waimea Estates' second label), you will be assisting in the conservation efforts to protect the Tuatara ("Spinyback" in Mäori protected by law in 1895), New Zealand's largest reptile -- a half-metre in length and so named for its distinct crest of spines along its neck and back is now only found on the outer islands; the major threat to the Tuatara are the rats that prey on the eggs and their young. So, with every sip of this spicy, liquid lemon and gooseberry Sauvignon Blanc, not only will you be enjoying a fresh and zesty wine, you will be assisting in efforts to protect the species. The 2017 vintage was awarded Gold at the 2017 New Zealand International Wine Show. The SB is fresh, vibrant on the palate with fresh melon, soft orange and basil and light fresh herbs on the palate.
