Gwen Barton rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Thoroughly enjoyed this approachable, well structured Cali Chardonnay. Lightly oaked from time in neutral, French barrels. Bright stone fruit notes with hints of vanilla and smoke. Soft, silky finish. Paired with mussels in a herbed cream sauce. Tasted Nov 2021.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

An elegant, Californian Chardonnay courtesy of Sea Sun Winery. Overseen by the Wagner Family, this Chardonnay has everything you want in a Cali Chard. Ripe pears, meet delicious apples and buttery, toasty caramel carrying nicely throughout the medium body with a round, enveloping mouthfeel. Delicious! Try this with baked Trout amandine and butter poached seafood dishes. Cheers! - tasted November 2021
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Well made Chardonnay from California, the Sea Sun 2018, by Wagner Family of Wine, shows aromas of yellow apple, honeydew melon, lime zest, saline, butter and burnt caramel. Harvested in Solano County, Santa Barbara County and Monterey County, this delicious wine is sure to please the amateur of California Chardonna, with its full body, modest acidity and luscious finish. Palate: starfruit, white peach, lime, salt, creme fraiche, toffee and pie crust. Enjoy!
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A well structured yet sexy expression of California Chardonnay, with grapes harvested from a few Northern and Southern regions.
Fresh aromas of red delicious apples, pear, starfruit and honey fill the glass.
A velvety mouthfeel, with a citrus flavoured core and a persistent nectarine finish.
Pair with chicken Caesar salad.
Tasted Jan 2022.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pale straw in colour with aromas of green apple, butter, lemon, melon and saline . It is medium bodied with balanced acidity and it has flavours of tart green apple, lemon and butter leading into a long buttery lemon finish. This will pair well with poultry or buttered seafood such as lobster. Tasted on February 21, 2022.
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

On the nose, notes of poached apple, lemon, chalk, banana cream pie, caramel, slight barnyard, and almond.

On the palate, full bodied with a pleasant mouthfeel and balanced acidity with notes of pear, lemon, oak, walnut and minerality.

Pair with chicken in cream sauce, fried chicken, or lobster with butter.

Tasted December 2021
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Attractive aromas headline the 2018 Sea Sun Vineyard Chardonnay. Elegant and defined, the scents suggest floral, apple, peach, buttery and smoky oak. Building on these scents, this Sea Sun experience feels pleasantly dry and structured and reveals compact flavours reminiscent of bin apple, late harvest peaches and oak spice.

This chardonnay was crafted with grapes sourced from California’s Solano, Monterey and Santa Barbara counties. Rotisserie chicken and BLTs would pair nicely with this chard.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lovely and luscious. Aromas of golden pear and apple, with notes of honey and hazelnut. Medium bodied with balanced acidity, ripe, rounded fruit on the palate, and a creamy, nutty note on the finish. Enjoy with herb roasted chicken or pan seared scallops.
Sea Sun is a California Chardonnay whose character speaks to the unique coastal regions where it is sourced. Our diverse vineyard sites span several hundred miles, and even subtle differences in temperature and the strength of the wind leave their mark on the grapes. The result is a wine that combines some of our favorite characteristics of this varietal, with fruit flavors, oak and acidity in harmony and balance. Both lush and crisp, with scents of lemon zest and flavors of peaches and apricots, this wine suits a wide range of palates. - Wagner Family of Wine
