A complex and balanced Californian red with classic aromas fleshy dark fruit and spices. Wonderfully structured: perfect for diner parties involving steak. This robust wine is a blend of Zinfandel, Carignan, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Mataro (aka Mourvèdre). The 2013 vintage of Ridge's Three Valleys is richly concentrated and complex. Polished tannins with a judicious use of oak. Pair with grilled meats.

Food pairings: zesty ribs, pulled pork, chicken wings, spaghetti, lamb shank.

Reviews and Ratings

Jessica DiFruscia rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby red with a slight Amber hue, with aromas and flavours red fruits, spice and hints of oak with a lasting finish. Great wine but this winery always delivers.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Ridge's Three Valleys Zin is a blend of 80% Zinfandel, 11% Carignan, 8% Petite Sirah and 1% Alicante Bouschet, which adds complexity to this silky smooth and friendly wine. Full bodied and silky smooth, it's jam packed with bramble berry pie, sauteed peppers, baking spice, and leather. Lovely fruit concentration on the dry palate makes this complex Sonoma County Zin a great choice to enjoy with braised dishes or tomato based pasta dishes. Enjoy 2016-2022. Tasted February 2016. 91 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
The 2013 vintage of the Proprietary Red Three Valleys is a Californian red wine blend of 80% Zinfandel, 11% Carignan, 8% Petite Sirah and a dash of Alicante Bouschet grapes. Lots of dark fruit and black spices. Lighter than Ridge's Lytton Spring, but still packed with flavour. Despite the continuing drought in California, the winery had an abundant crop in 2013, with the grapes ripening fully until a September harvest. The natural fermentations finished quickly, allowing early assemblage (blending). Petit sirah adds structure and colour to the soft zinfandels. - Community Wine Reviews
