Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Stunning wine. Loads of dark plum and cherry, along with black Liquorice, tobacco and dried herbs. Superb length. Best with lamb. 92 Points.
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lovely Rioja Reserva; pronounced aromas of red fruits such as red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, dried cherry, vanilla, cinnamon, clove and flavours from aging of leather, mushroom and earth. The wine is dry, with a medium body, medium alcohol, medium tannins and medium acidity. In the mouth tastes include cherry, spice, vanilla, cocoa nibs, and red plum.Very good on its own or with extra old Beemster or Manchego cheese and surprisingly good with dark chocolate and rich chocolate desserts.
Muriel Fincas De La Villa Reserva 2015 Rioja is a dry, medium-bodied 100% Tempranillo fragrant with ripe strawberry, black pepper and smoked meat aromas. On the palate, rich with dark fruit flavours, oak spice, cocoa, and smoke through the long finish. A marvellous wine that over delivers for $20. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews
