This robust Australian Cabernet over-delivers beautifully against its price point. I also love the Shiraz this winery makes. Full-bodied with smoky black fruit. Great concentration and depth with a good finish. Very satisfying. Crack open a bottle (or two) tonight.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: rabbit with dumplings, venison sausage cassoulet, venison Swiss steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This wine is utterly divine. A gorgeous seam of acidity races through the wine and helps prop up the plum, black cherry and blackberry flavours, as well as a finish ladened with cinnamon spice, dried flower and fresh tobacco. 92 Points
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Cabernet Sauvignon has a beautiful garnet colour. On the nose, there are aromas of black current and raspberry, as well as earthy qualities like autumn leaves and wet wood. You can also find leather, pepper, and vanilla.

The earthy qualities and dark berries follow through on the palate. It has well structured tannins. It has a nice level of acidity. Overall, a nice full bodied wine!

Tasted October 2017
From the McLaren Vale in South Australia, Mitolo Jester (2014) is a robust Cabernet Sauvignon at a great price, and we're not jesting :). On the palate, the wine is smoky, rich and ripe dark fruit finishing with espresso coffee. Pair with leg of lab done with fresh rosemary and thyme. - Community Wine Reviews
