Leanings toward Bordeaux, but definitely rooted in Niagara. Savoury, dark, subtle with an undefinable whispered something on the nose that draws you closer to understand. Black plum, dark spice, supreme balance, yet meaty. Keep doing whatever it is you're doing here.

Reviews and Ratings

Comprised of 62% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Cabernet Franc.
Components of the final blend were vinified separately. Following eighteen months aging in barrel on lees, individual barrels were selected for the 2007 Meritage through a series of tastings and trial blends. The wine was allowed to marry in tank after being racked form barrel, and then was bottled without fining or filtration. The Merlot component of the blend was selected from each of our Estate vineyards: the Fielding Vineyard (Beamsville Bench) and Jack Rabbit Flats Vineyard (Lincoln Lakeshore). The Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc components of the blend were selected from each of our Estate Vineyards, Zuzek Vineyard (Beamsville Bench) and Wismer Vineyards (Twenty Mile Bench). Interestingly, the barrels chosen were done so blind and were from a number of Cooperages: Berthomieu, Ermitage, Kelvin, Keystone, Mercury, and Radoux.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
