Big and oaky but I like it! It’s warm and fleshy and generous like a pair of jeans that fits just right. Aromas of ripe blackberries and voluptuous plums. So smooth. Top me up!

Reviews and Ratings

Glenda rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Diemersfontein Pinotage wines have somewhat of a cult following due to the extravagant coffee and chocolate character of the wine. They are celebrated each year on the farm in Wellington, Western Cape, with a Pinotage On Tap festival. In South Africa Pinotage can be crafted with many different expressions and Diemersfontein has made this cultivar accessible and enjoyable for many who are just learning to enjoy wine.
The ’09 should please [this] label’s many fans: vibrant plums, freshly brewed coffee & smokiness. Firm spicy-sweet conclusion. Still in development, tannins busy melding, showing great promise. 100% new oak. Score: 4 (out of 5) Source: Winnie Bowman, Platter's South African Wine Guide
