Winemaker Derek Barnett, formerly of Lailey Vineyards, has launched his own virtual winery called Meldville (virtual because he doesn't own the winery facilities where he makes the wine though it's from grapes with growers he's known for years). This 2016 Sauvignon Blanc is the second vintage of this lovely wine that has aromas of melon. It's medium-bodied without harsh acidity but not wimpy either. Some tropical notes on the finish. Pair with seafood.

A terrific wine from Derek Barnett with notes of lemon, apple, lemongrass and some tropical fruit towards the finish. Nice minerality throughout. Tasted March 2018 at Taste Ontario Ottawa
