Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Robust and bold, but sophisticated Rhone Valley red from Rousillon. Subdued cherry and spice nose, followed by a layered palate with dark cherry, earth, mineral and garrique elements. Satiny tannins and lingering finish. Chapoutier name synonymous with silky elegant wines.
Tasted Nov. 2016
Carola Price rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A ton of sweet vanilla, red fruit and spice on the nose. Darker fruit on the palate along with some nice peppery spice. Full-bodied. Great wine for the price.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Sweet dark berries, clove, vanilla, plum producing a simply gorgeous bouquet. Brambleberry and refreshing black cherry on the fresh and lively palate. A great wine at a great price. Enjoy with BBQ fare and throughout the year with hearty dishes. Tasted June 2016. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Fairly restrained on the nose; much more vibrant on the palate, with dark cherry, earthy and tobacco notes. Full bodied, with a moderately dense structure, nice depth of flavour through the mid-palate and ripe tannins.
The 2014 vintage of Chapoutier's Vignes de Bila Haut is a robust red wine blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 20% Carignan grapes that was aged in concrete tanks. Finishes with seductive pepper and spice. - Community Wine Reviews
