A superb, heavy-hitter of a Rhone Valley red wine blend from the heart of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape region. Aromas of black cherry liqueur, smoke, tar, and graphite. Pair with roast beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Absolutely divine! A classic spiced, leather, cedar, and dark fruit forward southern Rhone gem. It's rich, well balanced, developing and delicious. Enjoy now with bone-in prime rib roasts or cellar through to 2020-2022 to reveal more dried fruit and tobacco notes. Tasted Sept 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Neil Phillips rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Aromas of smoke, tarmacadam, earth, leather, cassis, red fruit compote, mushrooms, baking spice, bramble and a hint of violets.

On the palate, nicely old-world austere but with a strong presence simultaneously. Smoked meats, red/black fruit jam, black liquorice. A lush, almost silky savoury/salinity finish.

Finely structured and on the savoury/gamey side - this CdP is drinking well now, but will be happy with another 5-10 (or more) years in bottle.

Tasted December 2016.
