From the Blaye Côtes De Bordeaux wine region, Château Le Grand Moulin Grande Reserve 2016 is a full-bodied red wine blend of estate-grown grapes, mostly Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec in support, all aged in cement vats. Look for a generous amount of ripe dark fruits, blackberry, mint, spice and earthy notes nicely balanced on the palate. Good now, better in 2022. Drink or hold.

Food pairings: bacon-wrapped filet mignon, roast beef, grilled veal Porterhouse.

Soft and delicate are two words that come to mind when smelling and tasting this right bank wine. Chateau Le Grand Moulin 2016, from the Blaye region, delivers aromas of black currant, fruitcake, mint, leather, dill and cedar. A blend of 80 % Merlot, 15 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 5 % Malbec give this wine well layered acidity and tannins. The finish is lingering with spice and fresh fruit. Palate: plum, black cherry, bay leaf, graphite, allspice and cedar. Enjoy!

Aromas of black currant, graphite, dried herbs, smoke and leather. Full bodied, smooth with young, drying tannins, and ripe dark fruit on the palate. There are some herbaceous notes, and hints of leather and smoke on the finish. Enjoy with prime rib.

Château Le Grand Moulin 2016 is a full-bodied 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec red wine blend from the Blaye Côtes De Bordeaux wine region and superb value under $18. Produced by Jean-François Reaud from the family estate established in 1904. Look for ripe and plushy dark plum, savoury herb, mocha and white pepper spice flavours on the palate. Tannins a e structured and firm. Good now, better in a couple of years after some integration. Pair with a filet mignon. - Community Wine Reviews
