This smooth, supple Californian red wine is produced by Buena Vista winery which is housed in an historic building in the heart of Sonoma. The French company Boisset now owns this winery. The pinot noir grapes grow in the cool climate of Carneros, with cooling breezes from the San Francisco Bay. Lovely layers of liquid satin, black cherries and some dark spice. Packed with flavour yet not heavy. Aromas of mocha and smoke. Medium- to full-bodied and very supple. Pair with pork chops.

Pinot Noir food pairings: roast chicken, roast veal, planked salmon.

From Carneros, California a Pinot Noir with a lovely cherry, vanilla, mocha nose and delicious layered palate of tart cherry, mocha, earth and spice. Mouth-watering and silky, beautifully balanced elements with lingering finish. Pinot Noir is so versatile with many foods; take this to your next dinner party and impress everybody.

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This wine is something... and that something is good! Beautiful pronounced aromas of pomegranate, smoke, allspice and hints of mocha intrigue the nose. This bouquet translates identically on the palate. This wine is slightly off-dry, the mouthfeel is mouthwatering, tannins are smooth (medium-smooth) with a long plush finish. Enjoy pairing this California Pinot with braised beef tacos. Tasted Oct 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

14.5 Alcohol and tastes like a Katy Perry music video looks. This type of Pinot to Burgundian sophisticates is anathema. It's so plump and sunny - far too "new world" for some... If a style outside the mainstream becomes popular enough, can it become the new mainstream? It worked for Argentine Malbec.
The colour is quote dilute. Pale ruby with pink hues and light sediment.
Aromas of sarsparilla, duck fat, cocoa, leather, raspberry, red plum, really ripe cherries, vanilla, cream, and anise.
The flavours are really soft and pure. If nothing else marks it as traditional Pinot, soft ness and purity should. Morello cherry jam, raspberry, demerara sugar, cocoa, slight wood tannin, perhaps even nectarine.
This is well worth trying. Contrast this to an equivalently valued Burgundy. It makes for a pretty pleasant experiment, no matter the result!
Pair it with ratatouille or as a contemplative sipper, alone.
